Jill (Patricia Richardson) is concerned after a magazine quiz she takes says that she and Tim (Tim Allen) aren't compatible. Tim is dismissive, and creates his own quiz to mock Jill for putting stock in a magazine quiz. After talking to Wilson (Earl Hindman), Tim explains to Jill that their differences make them a stronger couple.

Meanwhile, Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) has entered the school talent show as a ventriloquism act, despite not knowing ventriloquism. To help out, Tim makes him a ventriloquist dummy that looks just like the Tool Man.
