After videotaping Jill's speech at the opening of the new (and very well funded) library, Tim takes the camcorder with him to the hardware store - where he accidentally tapes himself joking around with the guys about how he thought her speech was boring -- almost as boring as he finds her newfound interest in psychology. When Jill winds up seeing the tape, she's furious at Tim, who insists that it's unfair to judge him for a private conversation among guys. Wilson tries to defend Tim's actions to Jill, but she counters him with some well researched psychological opinions about the nature of gossip, and Tim, after trying and failing to explain his actions to his sons, apologizes to Jill and resolves to start reading everything she reads in order to better understand her interests.
