Tim is eager for an opportunity to buy a 20% stake in Harry’s Hardware, but Jill vetoes the idea - so Al jumps in instead as a silent partner. But Al’s co-ownership soon starts driving everyone nuts, as he makes unpopular cost-cutting measures like taking away the free doughnuts and frequently advertising the store on Tool Time. When Al’s devotion to the store starts interfering with his relationship with Ilene, Tim confronts Al and tells him to take it down a notch. Meanwhile, Mark wins a Halloween costume contest by dressing up as Al.
