While filming an episode of tool Time in the Taylor house, Brad accidentally trips over some pulled up carpet and injures his knee. The doctors examine it and suggest that he might not ever play soccer again.

Tim has been asked by Binford to write a book on manhood, but he hasn’t produced any chapters despite spending his entire advance. With only one weekend left to show them the first three chapters, Tim must put pen to paper and get writing.

Brad has saved up for a new car, but the first day he takes it out, it gets stolen. The police can't do much without direct evidence, which incenses Tim who decides to take matters into his own hands. Dawning disguises and a hidden camera, he ropes Al into conducting a sting operation on a local chop shop he believes responsible for the crime.

Marty is having trouble with the girls while trying to hold down a job, but fails to discipline them when they begin to overstep their boundaries with Tim and Jill.
